This year, we decided to try something new for our vacation trip. Instead of getting a hotel suite for the whole family, we decided to rough it out and went for a villa rental instead. It turned out to be a truly inspired idea. For the first time, we were on our own in a secluded area and I loved it. I tell you, if it’s privacy you want, villa rental is the way to go.
You do not have to worry about annoying floor mates and loud music anymore because you are basically on your own. Also if you do have neighbours, they would not be so close like the rooms in a hotel. One trade-off though is the room service. You can still call for towels and get a wakeup call but your requests would not be promptly delivered because of your villa’s location. It is after all far from the Housekeeping centre of the hotel.
I loved the feeling that we were able to be on our own. I guess it is easier to imagine that you are actually living in paradise rather than just staying for a time, when you have a villa all to yourself. Although we ate out and tried the local cuisine every night, during lunchtime, we cooked our own food. We even bought fresh produce from the village market, which was a really great hands on experience.
I never really thought I would enjoy villa rental because I tend to be such a lazy person. But surprisingly I did. Try it. You might like it too.
