We were recently contacted by Mrs Holmes who had booked her La Manga Club holiday with a website promoting accommodation advertised directly by the owners of the property. She told us that upon arriving at the property in the resort it did not meet her expectations of cleanliness or quality. The company she booked with had a representative on the resort who didn’t help rectify the situation, so upon returning home after a disappointing holiday, she contacted us in the hope we could help. In response to her request, we found the complaints procedure of the company she booked with, allowing Mrs Holmes to send details of her complaint to them. Their response so far has been to forward it to the owner of the accommodation who advertised his property on their website, stating “We are not involved in the booking process or monetary transactions; therefore we do not mediate disputes between holidaymakers and advertisers. We hope you and the advertiser are able to resolve this matter soon.” They then went on to try and sell her insurance against the same thing happening again!
